Scraping of Wallpaper

Policies
& Procedures

Please read our store policies before ordering fabric or wallpaper. It is important to be aware of the nature of custom orders.

Ordering Wallpaper

Wallpaper can be sold by the roll or by the yard. Please note how your paper is sold. If it is sold by the roll it is often PRICED by the SINGLE ROLL and SOLD by the DOUBLE ROLL. You cannot order a single roll, the minimum order is a double roll. Some vendors do price and sell by the double roll. We will tell you at the time of order how your paper is sold.

A "single roll" is a term for yardage length typically between 4 and 5.5 yards. A "double roll" is equivalent to ONE physical roll and is typically between 8 and 11 yards.

If you have one physical roll in your hands, that is equivalent to two single rolls.

Calculating Wallpaper

We highly recommend having your paper hanger measure and estimate the quantity of paper needed. However, we will, as a courtesy, calculate the amount of paper needed for you based on your own measurements. Please note we are not responsible for overage or shortage of paper. We will always try to estimate for you to have a small amount of excess in case of miscuts during the hanging process. We are also happy to order additional paper for you if needed.

IF YOU NEED AN ADDITIONAL ROLL:

If you cannot complete your project with the original amount ordered we can order an additional for you. If you have ordered wallpaper priced by the yard you may need to meet a yardage minimum. We cannot guarantee the same dye lot will be available when you place your additional order. You will also have to pay a shipping charge for an additional roll.

For all of these reasons, we will always recommend buying an extra roll at your time of order.

Precautions Hanging Wallpaper

Before you start to hang:  Examine goods to make certain pattern and color is accurate and as ordered. Have all associated product in your possession to ensure correct color match. Review each bolt label and make certain the run number is the same for all bolts received. Review item numbers to ensure all are the same. Install all wallcovering under adequate lighting and heated conditions that will exist when space is occupied.

Important:  If after hanging the first three strips, you notice any defects in the material, STOP work and notify your supplier. *WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LABOR REIMBURSEMENTS FOR DEFECTIVE PAPER THAT IS HUNG. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CUSTOMER AND/OR PAPERHANGER TO INSPECT ALL PAPER FOR DEFECTS BEFORE HANGING *

Mildew:  Mold and mildew require moisture in order to grow, therefore it is important that any excess moisture in the wall be corrected prior to installation. On old walls where mold spores may be present, they should be washed with a detergent solution or cleaned using a vacuum with a HEPA filter. This should be followed by treating with a chlorine bleach solution of 1 cup bleach to 4 quarts of water to kill any remaining spores. Rinse clean and dry.

We have a no return policy, but if the paper is defective we can work with the wallpaper vendor to inspect and ship out replacement paper. Please keep the original order to ship back to the vendor.

Dye Lots (Fabric & Wallpaper)

A dye lot is the batch the fibers are dyed in. All of the fibers in one batch will be the exact same color and will have the same dye lot number on the label. Fibers from a different batch may vary in color. Samples in the showroom will likely be of a different dyelot than the fabric you are ordering. Variations are slight. If there is a concern about color variation, a CFA (cutting for approval) can be requested.
